Christian sacked from school wins LGBT legal battle

A CHRISTIAN school worker who was fired after sharing Facebook posts objecting to LGBT+ relationship education yesterday won a Court of Appeal battle.
Kristie Higgs lost her role as a pastoral administrator and work experience manager in 2019 after the posts criticised plans to teach about the relationships in primary schools.
Dispute
The mother of two challenged a 2023 employment appeal tribunal judgment. It ruled in her favour but sent the case back to a tribunal for a fresh decision over whether her dismissal by Farmor's School in Fairford, Gloucestershire, was lawful.
Her lawyers told the Court of Appeal this step was "unnecessary". In a judgment yesterday three judges ruled in her favour, finding that the decision to send the case back was "unlawfully discriminatory".
