Canada U-turn in Trump tariff war

CANADA last night backed down on its 25% electricity tariffs for the US after Donald Trump threatened to double levies against it.
The leader of the province of Ontario, Doug Ford, did a U-turn after speaking with the US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Mr Ford said: “They call you and they hand over an olive branch. The worst thing I could do is ignore him and hang up the phone on him.”
