Book some time with a novel to fight dementia

OLDER people should switch off the telly and read a book instead to reduce their dementia risk, suggests a study.

Researchers assessed the 24-hour activity of 397 people over 60. They found the context or type of activity that people engage in matters for brain health.

Some sedentary behaviours are better for cognitive function, said the study in The Journals of Gerontology Series A.
