The Reform UK leader took the photos of people decked out in lifejackets being put aboard a Border Force vessel before being taken to Britain. He said of the arrivals: "One woman, three kids and 74 young adult males whose identity we do not know. If this is not a national security emergency, I don't know what is."

The agreement struck between the Prime Minister and French president Emmanuel Macron is intended to reduce the number of illegal crossings by introducing a "one in, one out" policy.
