WHEN Wigan and Warrington do battle in Las Vegas this weekend, it will not be the first time they have locked horns in the United States.
The two clubs first tried firing-up rugby league on the other side of the Atlantic in 1989, and a teenage Denis Betts was in the middle of it.
The Great American Challenge took place at Milwaukee County Stadium — home then to baseball’s Brewers and occasionally to the NFL’s Packers — with Wigan winning a feisty clash 12-5.
