I've been in the beauty industry for over 15 years, and in that time have tested thousands of lotions and potions from the most expensive brands to the best bargains around. Price, you see, isn't always an indicator of efficacy.

OK, so I'm aware £65 is a lot of money for a lip balm... but this being the best is a hill I am prepared to die on. Thick, waxy, long-lasting and incredibly nourishing, nothing feels as good as this does on the lips.

What's more, a little goes a long way and it lasts.

Best... EXFOLIANT

Pixi Glow Tonic, from £10, lookfantastic.com

This AHA liquid exfoliant has spawned so many dupes, yet remains the best in the biz. It contains glycolic acid, which gently dissolves dulling dead skin cells and reveals some much-needed radiance. I sweep it across my face after cleansing three times a week.
