A WOMAN who sent a message in a bottle as a girl has received a reply from 725 miles away - 31 years later.
Alaina Beresford was just 12 when she committed her message to the sea in an empty pop bottle as part of a classroom project about water.
Postcard
Her teacher's fisherman husband threw the Moray Cup brand drinks bottle out to sea off their coastal village of Portknockie on the Moray Firth, and she heard nothing more of it for three decades.
