£2.5m fine for David Lloyd Leisure after boy, 3, drowns in pool

Rocco Wright was found lifeless in the water by his dad Steve, after the youngster had wandered off at a leisure centre in April 2018.

At Leeds Crown Court yesterday the company admitted a health and safety breach.

Rocco's heartbroken parents, Catharine and Steven, said in a statement they continued to be devastated by his loss.

They said: "Rocco had an infectious laugh and a smile which lit up the room.

"He was loved and adored by all his family. He had his whole life ahead of him, and we dearly miss our little 'buddy' every day." But the couple criticised the length of time it had taken for the company to accept liability.
