£140k payout over 'extreme' sexism aimed at rail worker

A RAIL signaller was awarded almost £140,000 following “extreme sexism” by male colleagues, including them watching pornography at work.

Rowena Owens sued for discrimination, complaining about at least 16 workers at their signals centre.

A tribunal heard she was asked about oral sex and had to put up with images of topless women in the office, while staff watched X-rated films and one waved a sex toy at her.

After a five-year legal battle she has won damages totalling £138,012.
