Man 'motivated by revenge' attacked love rival with baseball bat
May 15, 2025
|Cynon Valley Leader
A MAN armed himself with a baseball bat and fractured another man’s skull in a brutal attack in front of the victim's mother.
It was described as a “revenge attack” after he claimed he found messages from the victim on his partner's phone.
Thomas Morgan, 35, attended the home of Christopher Holly in Tredegar at 7.30am on July 21 and banged on the door. The victim was still in bed but his mother answered the door and described the defendant as “rude and abrasive”.
A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court heard Morgan said he was “not moving” until Mr Holly came to the door and was “intimidating and confrontational”.
After Mr Holly’s mother woke him up, he came to the door and, as he put his foot on the doorstep, Morgan swung a wooden baseball bat at him with both hands and connected with the right side of his face. The victim felt immediate pain and could feel the swelling almost immediately.
