Man jailed for beating 62-year-old to death

VICTIM HAD ENDURED LONG CAMPAIGN OF ABUSE
A MAN has been jailed for beating a 62-year-old man to death following a long campaign of physical abuse which ended with the perpetrator finally leaving his victim to die in a south east London flat on Christmas Eve, 2024.
Gordon Ogunmuyiwa was “brutally assaulted” at a staffed housing facility on Dunheved Road West, Thornton Heath and was pronounced dead on December 24, 2022.
Paul Campbell, 43, who was the registered tenant of the address where Gordon’s body was found, was charged with murder on January 11, 2023.
He was found guilty of manslaughter at Woolwich Crown Court following a three-week trial that ended on Thursday, May 8 and sentenced to 21 years in prison with a five-year extended licence.
