THERE were three successful games for the Crewe CC Ladies this week.
First up was an away game at Haslington where Crewe fielded first and restricted Haslington to net 80 helped by eight wickets (-5 runs for each).
Dawn Price took three with two caught by WK Ailsa Meakin and one by Lisa Taylor on the boundary.
Rosie Meakin’s two caught and bowled, a further catch by Ailsa behind the stumps off Lisa’s bowling and two run outs by Lisa and Nicki Jarvis completed the mix.
In reply, Crewe made hay in the heat with some powerful ball striking and four players making scores of 25+. Top scorers were Ailsa Meakin and Nicki Jarvis with net 50 and 40 respectively, propelling Crewe to a big win by 114 runs.
A day later Crewe travelled to Over Peover and again fielded first. Over Peover made a steady start but wickets in each of the 4th, 5th and 6th overs made a significant impact on the score - run outs from Jess Kimberley, another from Rosie Meakin combining with Nicki Jarvis and a catch by Rosie Meakin off Dawn Price’s bowling.
