POLICE in Warwickshire are investigating after a monument dating back to the 1300s was vandalised.

- By DANNY THOMPSON

The Kinwarton Dovecote is a rare 14th-century circular building with metre-thick walls, over 580 nesting holes and original rotating ladder that was originally used for keeping and feeding birds.

But the National Trust-managed attraction, which is a point of pride for residents in the area, has been targeted by vandals police have labelled 'mindless.

Officers from the Warwickshire Rural Crime Team shared images of the vandalism on social media on Tuesday evening.
