Housing development's residents complain they've been 'left behind'

RESIDENTS at a local housing development have been struggling to feel heard after enduring what they say have been years of issues.

People living in Cross Farm Green and Elder Close in Wedmore say that despite the first people moving in back in 2021, large parts of the development remain unfinished.

One person claims some roads have been left unsurfaced and that playgrounds have not been maintained.

Some road surfaces have cracks, right, and weeds growing out of it, which they describe as an “eyesore” and potential hazard.

Despite these issues, homeowners at the development still pay £500 a year in maintenance fees - although this fee is not linked to the road issue.

One resident, who asked to be quoted anonymously, said: “It is unacceptable that after four years, the first phase of this development still lacks properly finished roads and maintained public spaces.
