PM Modi to inaugurate new iconic Pamban bridge, flag off new train service, dedicate new projects

Marking a historic milestone Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the newly constructed iconic Pamban Bridge connecting the Rameswaram Island and the mainland on Sunday on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.

Upon his arrival from Colombo at Uchipuli helipad by an Navy MI 17 chopper from, He would also flag off a new train service between Rameswaram and Tambaram and launch various new projects.
On the occasion, Mr Modi will also flag off a Coast Guard Ship as the Vertical Lift Span of the Bridge rises up to make way.
Southern Railway sources said a host of National High-way Projects benefiting the Southern regions of Tamil Nadu will also be inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation by Mr Modi.
On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Mr Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited new Pamban Bridge in Tamil Nadu.
In this historic moment, the Prime Minister will remotely operate the vertical lift mechanism of the bridge from Pamban itself and flag off the inaugural special of Rameswaram-Tambaram Express and a Coast Guard ship marking the inauguration of the new Bridge and its vertical lift span, the first of its kind in the country.
Following this, he will visit the world-famous Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameswaram and offer prayers at the Jyotirlinga.
