Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new RTC bus station and inaugurated new buses at Madhira in Khammam district on Monday.

The project, taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore, marks a significant development in public transport infrastructure in the region.

The new bus station is being constructed on a two-acre site to mark the completion of 35 years of the Madhira Bus Station, which was established in 1990 with four platforms.

The upgraded facility will feature 10 platforms and 24 bus pits, and will be strategically connected to the nearby railway station to improve passenger convenience. Following the ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Transport Minister also travelled in one of the newly launched RTC buses.
