Highlighting the growing need for quality healthcare for the poor, prominent doctor Dr. Yalamanchili Ravindranath and CPM district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao have demanded the establishment of a new government hospital in Khammam on the lines of Hyderabad’s NIMS (Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences).

They spoke during a free medical camp held at Manchikanti Hall, organized by the CPM Two Town Committee and BVK Committee, which saw hundreds of patients turn up for BP, sugar, ENT checkups, and free distribution of medicines.
