AP Assembly: Opposition MLCs, Minister argue on Urea issue

A heated argument broke out between Opposition YSRCP MLCs and Agriculture Minister K Atchannaidu in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on the issue of Urea fertiliser scarcity today.

The monsoon sessions of the Assembly and the Council began at Amaravati, near here during the day.

The 11 YSRCP MLAs boycotted the Assembly session while the YSRCP MLCs attended the Council. Botsa Satyanarayana, YSRCP floor leader in the Legislative Council, raised the issue of Urea fertiliser shortage and the problems being faced by the farmers as a result.

Atchannaidu made it clear in the Council that the government was ready for a debate on the urea shortage issue and other problems afflicting farmers.
