There is a plethora of literature and articles focusing on aspects such as healthy eating, adequate sleep and regular exercise - all of which are good habits to maintain. However, little attention is given to those “in-office” practices that positively contribute to self-care and which compound over time to make a tremendous difference to a person's career success and fulfilment.

The eight hours plus of a workday should be harnessed to ensure optimal and ongoing well-being in order to avoid burnout. Therefore, the most important self-care habit to develop is effective time management.

Successful leaders often use time management techniques like prioritising tasks, setting boundaries and delegating to boost productivity while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
