Police probe drowning at Table Bay
December 05, 2025
|Cape Argus
AN INVESTIGATION is underway after the body of a man was retrieved from Table Bay Harbour yesterday morning and a child, believed to be between the ages of five and 10, rescued.
Information about the incident is limited at the moment with police not confirming whether it was a suicide attempt.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg said a search had taken place at the harbour when the man and the child disappeared under the water.
During an earlier response Twigg said Table View police and SAPS divers were called to the scene after a man and a child were spotted in the water.
Twigg confirmed that the man’s body had been recovered and the child rescued.
