Forensic reports awaited in Lolitha’s rape, murder case

EVIDENCE involving toxicology, histology and fingerprint reports are currently outstanding in the case against the Khayelitsha couple accused of raping and killing seven-year-old Lolitha Kowa.

The couple briefly appeared yesterday in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court where their case was postponed to December pending outstanding forensic reports.

Odwa Jack and Nokuthula Matyeseni were arrested on July 23, hours after Kuyasa residents discovered Lolitha’s body about 1.5km from her home.

The young girl had gone missing the previous afternoon after she played with Matyeseni’s daughter.
