Festive season marred by violent crime

AS HEALTH and safety authorities are appealing to the public to celebrate the festive season responsibly, police have already had their hands full with bodies piling up days before Christmas, with a man allegedly stabbed to death by his wife and a woman shot in the head in another incident.
On Friday, the body of a woman was found in Kromboom Road in Lansdowne. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg explained: “Lansdowne police registered an inquest for investigation after the body of a female believed to be in her thirties was found in Kromboom Road on December 19, at about 12pm.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
