DJ Lag returns with ‘Southside’: a celebration of his roots

MUSIC fans are in for a treat as award-nominated producer DJ Lag returns with his latest mixtape, Southside, which dropped on Friday.
Referred to as “The King of Gqom’, DJ Lag’s new project blends traditional sounds from his hometown of Durban with contemporary electronic music.
The 12-track mixtape features songs such as NgyaSindelwa, with Zee Nxumalo and K.C Driller, Shona Malanga, a collaboration with Argento Dust and Natasha MD and the mixtape’s highlight Yey’Wena, a collaboration with
Amapiano star Vigro Deep.
The project also features contributions from prominent South African music-makers such as DJ Maphorisa, Sir Trill, Ape Drums, Jay Music, NovaBoy, Xduppy, and 2woshort.
