Cape Town's monthly bill lowest of all cities

IN a letter, Adiel Ismail raises the important question of how total monthly bills compare between SA's cities (Cape Argus, May 2).

Over time, the City of Cape Town has released a wide range of household scenarios demonstrably proving that Cape Town bills are lowest for properties under R5 million despite Mr Ismail claiming to have spotted an error in one of these calculations on social media.

The fact is that for scenarios of 10-30KL water usage and 600-850kWh electricity usage, properties under R5m in Cape Town generally have the lowest monthly bill of SA's big five metros across common household consumption scenarios.
