Musical city trio are in running for prestigious Ivors awards

COMPOSERS AMONG 34 TO BE NOMINATED THIS YEAR

CAMBRIDGE-BORN Judith Weir, Cambridge alumnus Julian Anderson and University of Cambridge Professor Richard Causton have all been nominated for prestigious Ivor Novello Awards as part of the Ivors Classical Awards.

Judith, who was born in Cambridge, and later studied at the University of Cambridge, is one of the most prolific British composers of her time.

She served as Master of the Queen's Music from 2014-2024, and was awarded a Damehood in the 2024 New Year Honours list for her services to music.

She was also awarded an Ivors Academy Fellowship the highest honour bestowed by the Academy in 2022.
