Artista can confirm her debut promise to brush aside rivals

ARTISTA can confirm debut promise with victory in the Hurn ‘Confined’ EBF Novice Stakes at Beverley.
A relatively cheap yearling purchase at £36,000, the Caravaggio filly was sent to the Westwood three weeks ago for her competitive introduction and shaped with plenty of encouragement in finishing third.
A high draw meant she was trapped wide for much of the way and she briefly looked outpaced, but there was a lot to like about the way she charged home when the penny dropped and she was beaten only two lengths at the line.
Artista, trained by Ollie Sangster, should be sharper for the experience and looks a winner in waiting.
Keldeo has already shown a liking for Beverley and another bold bid is expected in the Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap.
In three previous course visits the Ollie Pears-trained four-year-old has won once and finished third and fourth, most recently beaten just a length last week.
Prior to that effort she had recorded a fourth career win in game style at Pontefract, so she is clearly in good heart in this spring and a mark of 72 does not look beyond her if things fall right.
A drop back in trip might do the trick for Bobacious in the Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap.
