PICPA's 80th Annual National Convention: A Grand Celebration of Excellence, Innovation, and Community

THE PHILIPPINE Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) celebrated its landmark 80th Annual National Convention (ANC) from November 16 to 19, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center and Century Park Hotel. The event brought together over 6,000 CPAs for a dynamic program blending technical excellence, leadership, entertainment, and camaraderie.

SPORTS EVENTS

The convention's spirit of camaraderie and competition shone through a lineup of sports and esports events. Festivities began with the Mobile Legends tournament on November 15, followed by badminton, billiards, and bowling on November 16. The sports event concluded with a golf tournament on November 20 at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY SESSIONS

The convention opened with Business Opportunity Sessions focused on innovation and leadership. Maricar B. Veloso of QNE Software Philippines, Inc. discussed self-disruption for accountants, while Jesus B. Obaña of EXP Learning Innovations highlighted the evolving role of certifications. Prudencio S. Garcia, President of Mekeni Food Corporation, and Aldrin M. Cerrado, Founder and Operator of Shrimp Bucket, inspired delegates with “The Entrepreneurial Mindset of Successful CPAs.” The open forum was moderated by Hentje Leo L. Leaño, Tax Solutions Leader and Tax Partner at SGV & Co.

EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION

Before the official opening, delegates joined a solemn Eucharistic Celebration led by His Eminence Jose Cardinal Advincula, Archbishop of Manila. The gathering offered reflection and thanksgiving, setting a tone of gratitude and unity for the convention ahead.

Day 1 saw simultaneous sectoral forums for Public Practice, Commerce & Industry, Education, and Government.
