Tech Mahindra profit down 4.5% in Sep qtr

Tech Mahindra’s net profit declined 4.5 per cent to %1,195 crore in the September quarter over a year earlier.
It was, however, slightly higher than 1,141 crore sequentially.
Revenue rose 5.1 per cent to %13,995 crore, helped by manufacturing, and banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI).
Both the verticals, which contributed 18.1 per cent and 16.8 per cent, respectively, to the top line, ‘were up 5.2 percentand 6.2 percent, respectively.
“The past year has been one of the low points for the industry and the discretionary spend is limited, with most projects being consolidation and cost takeout ones,” Chief Executive Officer Mohit Joshi (pictured) said at a news conference on Tuesday.
