Marcos: Accurate information through media key to mitigating impact of regional turmoil

PROVIDING the public with accurate and timely information on the government response on the ongoing Middle East armed conflict with the help of the press can significantly help allay growing concerns on the potential impact of the said regional turmoil, according to President Ferdinand Marcos.
In his speech during the oathtaking of the new members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Board of Trustees and Standards Authority in Malacañang last Wednesday, the Chief Executive sought the cooperation of media in its information dissemination initiatives related to the Middle East crisis.
“In that way, we will be able to face those challenges that we are now beginning to feel and our people can much better—much better address the ways and means that we can mitigate the effects of the difficulties that we are seeing developing especially along the horizon,” Marcos said.
He stressed the crucial role of the press in combating false information amid such “global uncertainty.”
