Court orders arrest of Iloilo official for cyberlibel

A WARRANT of arrest has been issued against an official of the Iloilo provincial government who was charged with two counts of cyber libel for allegedly maligning former Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas.
The arrest order was issued by Judge Judita Patriarca Nafarrete of Branch 38 of the Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City against Jose Nereo Lujan, head of the Public Information and Community Affairs Office (Picao) of the Iloilo Provincial Government.
Lujan is also an incoming committee member of the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) but has yet to take his oath of office.
