BOC seizes P1.2 billion worth of marijuana from Thailand hidden in rubber mat shipment

ABOUT P1.2 billion worth of marijuana from Thailand was intercepted by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) last March 7.
In a statement on Wednesday, the BOC said the seized illegal drugs weighed 800 kilograms and came from a shipment in Thailand declared as containing rubber mats and plastic wares.
The shipment was flagged for verification by the Intelligence Group’s Risk Management Office after undergoing risk assessment, the BOC said.
