Widdowson to step down as Trust's head of community

BURTON Albion Community Trust's head of community, John Widdowson, has announced a “personal” decision to stand down from the beginning of August.

Having first joined the Trust in 2014, Widdowson has spent more than a decade serving the local community.
In 2022, he left to take on a new opportunity with Wrexham, before returning to the BACT in January 2024.
The Trust was founded as a charity to pursue community projects alongside the football club in 2010.
It was particularly prominent during the Covid pandemic, being the driving force behind the use of the Pirelli Stadium as a vaccination centre.
“It was always my dream to become head of community,” said Widdowson.
