TV star was on hand to open truck firm's depot

KEEPING pace with the 1980s was a mean task, especially for a firm in the motor trade - but that is what Pacetrucks set out to do.

By 1982 the firm was gearing itself up to meet the challenge of the 80s head-on.

The Pacetrucks centre in Stanton Road was setup in 1981 and by September 1982 the business launched itself as a new Bedford dealership.

The Bedford name returning to Stanton was a welcome move as the dealership had previously operated from a 3.5-acre site until the late 1970s.
