Sixth straight loss for
April 14, 2025
|Burton Mail
LEAGUE One results could not have gone much better for Burton Albion, on top of the crucial fact that they were able to win themselves.
-
Defeats for the two clubs who started the day below them and for Bristol Rovers, who started it three points ahead of them added up to the Brewers sitting outside the drop zone on goal difference with a game in hand.
There is a five-point gap to three sides above Albion but they have a game in hand on one of those, Northampton Town, who drew.
For Rovers, it was a sixth straight defeat, 2-1 at home to Exeter City, Burton's next opponents.
Caleb Watts put the Grecians ahead in the 11th minute and Reece Cole doubled their lead three minutes before half-time.
Ruel Sotiriou pulled one back after 70 minutes but the Gas could make no further inroads.
Northampton will know they are not out of danger yet after a goalless draw at home to play-off chasing Reading.
