JAYDON Banel has thanked Derby County for giving him the opportunity to shine as he waved goodbye to the club ahead of his return to Burnley.

The winger delivered a message on social media after the Rams missed out on the Championship’s top six, losing their final game 2-1 at home against Sheffield United.

“Frustrated with the result of the game, although a good performance from the team - thank you for all the support you Rams,” said Banel.

“Can not thank @dcfcofficial enough for the opportunities that’s been given to me throughout these months.
