James' rocket rocks Rams as Wrexham win fourth in a row

DERBY County were sunk by Matty James' superb strike as Wrexham moved closer to the Championship playoff places with a 2-1 win at Pride Park Stadium yesterday, their fourth victory in a row.

James struck what proved to be the winner in the 48th minute when he seized on a poor pass from Son-dre Langas and curled in from outside the box.

Wrexham started with a great deal of intensity and purpose and could have been ahead early on when Josh Windass' curling effort bounced off the post and fell into the path of Nathan Broadhead, who lashed wide of the post.
