FAMILY JUMP FROM WINDOW TO ESCAPE HOUSE BLAZE CAUSED BY BATTERY
The aftermath of the house fire in Drakelow
FIREFIGHTERS from Burton were called to a house fire where an adult and two children were forced to evacuate their home through a window.
They joined fire crews from Swadlincote at the semidetached home on Harbury Close, Drakelow, after a 999 call in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The occupants had managed to escape through a first-floor window by the time fire crews arrived, and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has now revealed the cause of the "rapidly developing" blaze.
