SHEPHERDESS URGES OTHERS TO BE ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS
AN on-call firefighter in Abbots Bromley has shared how she balances saving lives with caring for a flock of a sheep.
Katie Stanley, who works as an on-call firefighter alongside her shepherdess day job, is encouraging others to consider applying to be part of the lifesaving service.
She joined in 2024 and has spent the past year developing her skills and assisting with incidents.
In her day job, she cares for around 300 sheep, including rare Oxford Down and Hebridean breeds.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue are currently recruiting for on-call firefighters at various stations across the county.
