CHOOSE FROM 500 NATIVE SPECIES AT CEMETERY GIVEAWAY

COUNCIL chiefs in East Staffordshire are supporting a free tree giveaway where residents can collect native species to plant in their gardens or community spaces.

The event - organised by the Staffordshire Sustainability Board - will take place on Monday, February 16, at The Greenhouse in Stapenhill Cemetery, from 10am to 2pm.

A total of 500 trees will be available for residents to collect, and they can choose from a selection of native species including hawthorn, rowan, silver birch, crab apple and white-beam.
