CHILDREN URGED TO READ AT LEAST SIX BOOKS IN SIX WEEKS

CHILDREN across East Staffordshire are being encouraged to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
Running until Monday, September 15, the challenge invites children aged up to 11 to read at least six books over the summer holidays.
Libraries at Burton, Barton and Uttoxeter will be taking part in the challenge, designed to keep children’s literacy skills sharp.
Last year, almost 10,000 Staffordshire children took part, and more than 6,000 completed the challenge.
