'Burning waste may seem a good idea but it's really not worth the risk'

STAFFORDSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service are urging people to avoid burning waste in their gardens after attending more than 1,500 out of control fires.

Latest statistics revealed firefighters have attended more than 1,500 bonfires that have got out of control in the last five years.
The service says they are concerned that with increasing numbers of residents now having to pay for their garden waste to be removed these numbers could increase - as more residents look to burn their waste rather than pay the fee.
