WEPL Century-maker Ollie leads Bedminster to comfortable victory

OLLIE Meadows compiled an unbeaten 105 for Bedminster in a nine-wicket home win over newcomers Thornbury in the Premier Division of the West of England Premier League.
Set a target of 184 after winning the toss, opener Meadows led the charge, hitting 14 fours and four sixes, and shared an unbroken stand of 173 with Gloucestershire's Joe Phillips (63).
Thornbury were earlier restricted to 183-9 from their 50 overs. Somerset's Josh Thomas top-scored on a battling 48 from 102 balls as Muhammad Tayyab Nasir claimed 3-25 from 10 overs.
This result means Bedminster remain four points behind leaders Bridgwater, who completed a four-wicket victory away to champions Potterne.
Downend came up 14 runs short away to Burbage & Easton Royal, for whom former Somerset favourite Pete Trego played a crucial role.
