US envoys go to Israel
October 21, 2025
|Bristol Post
THE United States' special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, were in Israel yesterday to shore up the tenuous ceasefire that is holding in Gaza, a day after the fragile deal faced its first major flareup, with Israel threatening to halt aid transfers after it said Hamas militants had killed two Israeli soldiers.
-
The US embassy in Israel said the two envoys had landed in Tel Aviv. The Israeli military later said it had resumed enforcing the ceasefire, and it was confirmed by Israel that aid deliveries were due to resume yesterday.
Israeli government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian said Mr Witkoff and Mr Kushner met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to talk about developments in the region. She said US Vice President JD Vance and the second lady, Usha Vance, would also be visiting the country and meeting My Netanyahu, but she did not provide a timeline.
