Tribute Friend's epic run to remember Luis

Luis Piovesana went missing in February after making a 34-second 999 call to say he was ‘in danger’ sparking a high-profile search across Bristol.

The 26-year-old’s body was later found in the River Frome, near Napier Road, by a police dive team.

Months on from his death, his friend Jack Simm has completed an ultramarathon in the Lake District in memory of Luis.

Jack recalled how many of Luis's loved ones had joined the search.

The physio said: “I couldn’t go for the search because I could not get the time off work. I’m sure they would have understood, but as a physio, I see around 15 people a day.

“At the time, we didn’t know how serious it was. I had chatted to him maybe three weeks before over text.”

Luis’ family have stated that he did not take his own life, and Jack says that there was nothing to indicate that he had.

Avon and Somerset Police said his death was not believed to be suspicious, despite a call said to have been made by him at 3.03am in which it was claimed he said he was ‘in danger’

Jack, 26, added: “I had no idea. I think people closer to him knew he had ups and downs.
