Squatters Nightclub owners say streets are no longer safe

THE owners of the famous Kingswood nightclub Chasers have expressed their fury after the building was taken over by squatters before Christmas that they can’t now evict.

- Tristan CORK

The nightclub closed for the last time on Christmas Eve 2024, and a year on, the owners said it was still actively in use with “valuable assets and alcohol” stored on site.

But this week, the firm that ran Chasers - which occupies a prominent building in the centre of Kingswood - warned local residents that the area around it was now “not safe” and they feared that crime and the risk of fire had increased.

In a post on the club's old social media accounts, Chasers owners said they were alerted by their “security provider” that the club had been broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning, December 28. By that afternoon, they were on the scene and realised the building was being used by squatters, and they were unable to get in.
