Premier Comb'n Aiken and Jones on target again for new leaders DRG
October 16, 2025
|Bristol Post
T was a case of lightning does strike twice as ace marksman Emiel Aiken and his DRG Frenchay teammate Charlie Jones fired their team to new heights.
The previous weekend had seen Aiken hit a hat-trick and Jones chip in with a single to ensure DRG a comfortable enough 4-1 away victory over Bradley Stoke Town.
As though luck would have it, Aiken was at it again with a treble, while Jones weighed in with a sole goal once more as their on-song team took full advantage of previous pacesetters Bristol Barcelona's slip by seizing Premier Division pole position thanks to an impressive 4-0 home win over Olveston United.
Small wonder the up against it O’s will be on red alert this Saturday, as these two great rivals collide again at the same Frenchay Park Road venue for a tasty second-round GFA Senior Amateur Cup affair (2pm).
DRG's top spot gain was Bristol Barcelona’s dismay as they dropped their first points of an otherwise perfect start by going down 2-1 at Oaklands Park HQ to a jubilant Longwell Green Sports Reserves, celebrating a second win of their season through second-half Ellis Richards and Owen Sanfelice goals. Sohail Ashrif notched for Barca.
