PLAY-OFF SEMI-FINAL FIRST LEG BRISTOL CITY PLAY RATINGS
May 12, 2025
|Bristol Post
Max O'Leary - 6 Against a Sheffield United side stacked with attacking talent, the Bristol City goalkeeper was always likely to have his work cut out, and that proved to be the case.
-
He did brilliantly to deny Tyrese Campbell twice in quick succession, but was perhaps fortunate the Blades’ early strike was ruled out when he failed to deal with a corner. Should have been more commanding from set-pieces.
Zak Vyner - 5
The centre-back’s already difficult task on the left side of the back three was made even harder when Rob Dickie was shown a straight red card, but perhaps the 27-year-old could have been more alert to deal with the ball that lead to the foul in the first place. He battled as well as he could against Keiffer Moore, but simply had to do more to cut out the cross that led to the Blades’ second goal.
Rob Dickie (sent-off 45+2') - 4.5
In what was almost a repeat of the meeting with Chris Wilder's side in the first half of the season, Rob Dickie was shown a red card in slightly contentious circumstances. While from our vantage point, it did seem as though the defender had fouled Kieffer Moore in the penalty area, it didn't feel as though his challenge was particularly cynical. He'd defended fairly well until that point, but he needed to do better with that bouncing ball initially and his early exit left the Reds on the back foot for the remainder of the contest.
George Tanner - 5
