Home explosion shock Neighbouring properties could need to be demolished

MULTIPLE homes wrecked by an explosion in Yate may face demolition, a resident living at one of the damaged properties has said.

Rich Cainey, who lives in a house which now has a massive hole in the side of it, has said a number of properties may have to be demolished following the explosion on Tuesday.

Rich was “launched” as the explosion hit and heard “a large bang”.

He said he could hear screams from inside one of the houses.

He said two houses have been significantly damaged and his home is structurally unsafe.

Rich said there appears to be between three or five houses that need to be demolished.

He added: “I live at the one with a hole in it now. I was in the loft in the bed and was launched on the bed when it happened.
