CLIFTON Robinsons are still searching for their first point after the first two games of the new Premier Division season.

- David PARRY-JONES

In their first home game against East Grinstead, it was the visitors who took the points with a 2-0 win. They took the lead after just two minutes following a penalty corner, and scored their second early in the second half.

The home side responded well to to the second goal, creating a number of chances, but were unable to score. Goalkeeper Nicole Pollastrone made a number of outstanding saves and was awarded player of the match, while Verity Clark made a promising Premier debut.

Overall, it was a much-improved display with clear signs of progress being made. Clifton Robinsons travel to face Hampstead and Westminster on Saturday for another difficult game.

In National Conference West, Clifton Robinsons men's team gained a 4-1 victory at newly-promoted Marlow to continue their pleasing start to the season.

Harry Skinner opened the scoring after just six minutes, and Zack Glasgow, a new recruit from Team Bath Buccs, increased the lead shortly after.

Last week's scorer Isaac Hocking added a third goal, and Sam Ratcliffe completed the scoring in the last minute.

Cardiff/Met 2nds visit Clifton College on Sunday (noon).
