Hockey Clifton Robinsons edged out by students in league opener

CLIFTON Robinsons will be captained by Ashley Mainwaring this season following the decision of Ailine De Visser to step down and have a season's rest from playing.
The team opened their season in the Women's Premier Division with a long drive to the University of Durham. They had a tough start, going 1-0 down after just 15 minutes. Despite the setback, the team stayed focused and fought back causing the home side a number of problems. Their efforts paid off when Evie Grindal scored an equaliser from a well-worked short corner six minutes later.
The score remained 1-1 until 16 minutes into the second half when Durham managed to regain the lead.
Clifton Robinsons continued to play with determination, applying consistent pressure and pushing for another equalising goal. A short corner in the last few minutes gave hope, but despite the intensity and effort, the equaliser didn't come and the home side held on for victory
